THE PODS THROW A PARTY
It's hard for the Peapods
to be gone from home so long and not throw a fab party. So we
did. The Oscars were the perfect excuse for doing this. We
invited 9 of our new friends, printed out Oscar ballots, made a
delicious feast, decorated the apartment, bought prizes and were ready
to go.
We met these new Auzzie friends in unique ways.
Barbara and Maureen found us wandering through their neighborhood in
the Woolloomooloo district and invited us over to their house to see
the Cockatoos and have some bubbly water. We met Liz and Sylviane
at the noodle bar in David Jones foodcourt. They brought their
French friends Laurence and Dominque. Daryll, Ray and Bill were at a
play we saw at the Darlinghurst Theatre and we befriended them
there. People are all very friendly in Sydney and we were lucky
to meet these super new friends. And of course it turned out that
they all knew each other through various threads of other
friends. It's a small world when you live in Sydney. For
many of them, Oscars-American-style was a very new experience, and many
stayed until nearly 1:00 am! Good fun....
Ballots in hand... glued to the tube...
