Spare change is greatly appreciated by all the buskers
in Sydney. They can be found on most main streets sharing their
talent with the public. Here are a few more that we captured on
film.
This guy was one of the more talented. He was truly a One Man
Band, playing at least 10 intstruments at once. He had a string
on his elbow that he could play a cymbal with and a drum attached by
string to one foot. The banjo of course was his main instrument, and a harmonica, but make sure to notice the other bells and whistles
of his kit that he wore as a giant backpack. Sorry about the film
quality - he only played at night...
And here is another great one man band - this guy was playing mean
blues on Pitt Street Mall - slide guitar, awesome harmonica (brother
Steve take note), tamborine taped to one foot, and the other foot on a
box as percussion - great music...
Then there was just this weirdo guy - one of those hold-still statues...
And here was a classical artist painting in chalk, again on Pitt Street Mall...
And finally there was a great American tap dancer at the Circular Quay who had just arrived from San Francisco. He had
a DJ and the beat of his dancing was part of the music, rather than
just an accompaniment to the music - he was actively the percussion
element. We only saw him one day though, so maybe he didn't have
his 'busker's license' in order...
