There is lots of art to enjoy in Sydney. There are many museums for us to explore and also art exhibits in the store windows and in the streets. Here are a few of the art pieces we found and really liked our first week here in Sydney.
These were exhibited in a very cool department store called David Jones. It is also the home of the best gourmet market we have ever seen. Move over Dean and DeLuca. But you'll have to go to the food blog to read about that. We're talking about a different kind of art here.
Here's breakfast, all crocheted and needlepointed...
Two beautiful ceramic pieces...
And some gorgeous boats...
Here's a magnificent fountain we found in Darling Harbour...
And this boar fountain at the foot of the Hospital was really stunning...for a boar who dripped water out of his mouth into the pool below...
This hot clothing store has a unique name, "Fcuk". When I (epod) went inside and inquired if it was really pronounced "Fuck", the salesgirl looked at me with a shocked expression and explained that it was pronounced "Federated Company United Kingdom" or F C U K. Oh, excuuuuuuuse me!!!!
There are lots of little itsy bitsy cars here in Australia that we don't see at home. Here's an example of a really cute one....
