And so begins the chronicle of the Peapods in Australia....

First we have to learn a whole new language...

We checked into the Sheraton at the Park and began our explorations of this fabulous city.
We have many choices of transport within the city. There are buses, trains, ferries, monorail, light rail and taxis. However, these first days we have chosen to just use our feet and explore our neighborhood in Central Sydney which includes the business district, shopping districts, fabulous harbor and many museums and tourist sights.
First stop was the hair salon, Blondies, for Epod. After 9 weeks, she was sorely in need of attention. Eliza (with the support of James and Nadine) was fantastic and did a super job with her hair. Lucky for Mindy that Epod knows how to wield the shears for her (especially after the sheep shearing demo).

The first impression that we have of this remarkable city is the architecture. It continues to astound us daily. Look for the next link which will just contain these magnificent architectural compositions.
One of the most beautiful buildings here is the Opera House where we saw the musical "Sweeney Todd" on our 2nd night.
Here's the Opera House during the day...

And at night...

No photos allowed inside, but we snuck these two of the closed curtain and the opening set...
